SWC PhD Researcher attends UK Catalysis Conference
The 6th UK Catalysis Conference took place at Holywell Park, Loughborough over Tuesday 7th – Thursday 9th January 2020. The meeting provided an opportunity for catalytic scientists and engineers from across the UK’s academic and industrial communities to interact and network over the whole spectrum of Catalysis ranging from Organocatalysis, Biocatalysis, Homogenous catalysis and Heterogeneous catalysis.
With such a wide range of aspects of catalysis being covered and plenary speakers such as Duncan Wass (Cardiff University, UK), Johannes Lercher (Technical University of Munich, Germany), Angelika Brückner (Leibniz Institute for Catalysis, Germany) and many more, one of SWC’s researchers was delighted to attend. Renewable Engine PhD researcher, Zara Shiels, was able to present her contribution on “Developing New Nanocatalysts for the Direct Conversion of Biogenic CO2 to Sustainable Fuels”. Not only did she have the opportunity to network, present to and receive feedback from colleagues from both academia and industry from within the UK, but from many countries across the world as well.
